Listen to New York based indie-rock trio The Down & Outs new release HALF-LOVE. The pop-centric single is just one of the songs that will be featured on the band’s upcoming EP, Faraway Places, Exotic Imports, dropping September 24th. Mark your calendars, because The Down & Outs will be playing a show at Rash release night.
To band members Ray Young (vocals, bass), Benji Wason (guitar), and Tom O’Donnell (drums), HALF-LOVE is a high-fi, guitar-driven song inspired by the scarcity of time. Some choices are made for you, and others, ultimately, are up for you to decide. Whether absurdist or existential, Young’s lyrics express his suspension in time; “I’ve been waiting, I’ve been waiting, I’ve been waiting for a minute” HALF-LOVE’s chorus repeats. But, The Down & Outs don’t need to wait. Their moment is now.
